Coach Dave Clayton comes to McKinney Boyd from South Florida
where he served as the Assistant Head Wrestling Coach at his alma
mater Coral Springs High School for eight years. During his tenure at
Coral Springs, the Colts were 92-19-1 with seven district team titles
and two regional team titles. He has been in the corner for multiple
state placers, regional champions and district champs. Before
coaching at Springs, Dave was the head wrestling coach at the
prestigious Pine Crest School in Ft. Lauderdale.

Coach Clayton learned to wrestle in northeastern Pennsylvania before
moving to Florida in his sophomore season. Dave was a district and
Regional champion and placed 3rd in the state his senior year. Coach

Adam Hull
Coach Hull graduated from Abilene Christian
University in 2005 with a degree in History. This is
his third year coaching wrestling at Boyd.

Coach wrestled in High school in Washington State.
He spent 3 years at Abilene Christian University and
a year at Princeton ISD coaching football before
coming to Boyd. Coach Hull has two daughters
Emma (12) and Audrey (9).

Since Coach Hull started assisting Coach Clayton,
he has helped send team members to Districts,
Regionals, and State, as well as five tournament
titles.
was a two-time Broward County Champion and posted a high school record of 63-13. Dave earned a
wrestling scholarship to Division 1 James Madison University where he was a varsity starter for the Dukes
in 1985 and 1986.

At McKinney Boyd, Coach Clayton has led our 103 pounder to a State Championship in 2010, has won 6
area Tournaments, had seven Regional Qualifiers, four Regional Champs, and two District Champions.
Coach, along with his team, will be defending three tournament titles for the 2010-2011 school year*.
Coach Clayton's team has a dual meet record of 67-16 since he took over the program. He was named
District 17-5A Wrestling Coach of the Year in February of 2010.

Coach now lives in Frisco, Texas with his wife Jill and two sons, Shane and Ryan. Dave currently teaches
Broadcast Journalism and Video Technology at McKinney Boyd High School.
